SHIRLEY BASSEY - Belts The Best!

Shirley Bassey, one of the most popular female vocalists in Britain during the 1960s, is sometimes referred as the Tigress of Tiger Bay (her birthplace in Cardiff, Wales), or sometimes Bassey The Belter! Her voice, brassy and sexy, conveyed the James Bond mystique perfectly, and popular recognition in the United States came in early 1965 when "Goldfinger" hit number eight in the American charts, instantly becoming her signature song. Strangely though, it missed even the Top 20 in Great Britain, but Bassey was tapped to swing the theme songs to "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Moonraker" as well. On this show stopping LP, we hear songs from many of Hollywood's greatest films: If Ever I Would Leave You (Camelot); Something Wonderful (The King And I); He Loves Me (She Loves Me); Everything's Coming Up Roses (Gypsy); I Believe In You (How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying); I Could Have Danced All Night (My Fair Lady); Somewhere (West Side Story); One In A Lifetime (Stop The World, I Want To Get Off); People (Funny Girl); A Lot Of Livin' To Do (Bye Bye Birdie); The Sweetest Sounds (No Strings); and Goldfinger (Goldfinger). This is a Stereo pressing on UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS (UAS-6419), The record cover has a clipped upper right corner, and some minor color rubbing, but all the seams are intact, and it appears in overall Excellent condition. The playing surfaces also appear overall beautiful near MINT!
